Denaro imperiale scodellato in the name of Frederick II. Bergamo Republic (13th century), AR 0.82 g. FREDERICVS IMPRT (starting at 5 o’clock) Laureate bust r. based on the model of the gold augustalis of Messina and Brindisi (issued from 1231). Rev. (Vertically on both sides) PGA – MVM (P with horizontal bar for PER) Church façade surmounted by cross with two towers at sides, with four arches above rocks (synthetic image of Bergamo ‘alta’).
