Alle Welt: Netherlands: Batavian Republic 1795. The Netherlands were Liberated / Occupied by the Army of the French Republic. French soldiers were paid in Assignats and Dutch were forced to accept them. The Dutch issued socalled Recepisse to be used instead and so they could restrict the number. Recepisses were issued by the city government where a French army was located. The City of Enkhuizen issued June 1795 Recepisse of 6 3/4 Stuivers equal to 15 French Sous. A matching pair of the French and the Dutch Banknote is offered here. Date May 15th 1795 Very Rare Banknote, only about 30 pieces known.
