Celtic, Trinovantes and Catuvellauni, uninscribed coinage, (c.60-20 BC), gold Quarter Stater, 1.31g, 'Rowntree Fern Leaf' type, wreath incorporating crescents and stylised hair, concentric circles behind, rev. annulate horse with large tail right, fern-like motif, annulets, and ringed pellet with pellet border above, cogwheel sun below (ABC 2362; VA-; S.48 var.), light wear to highest points but generally minty and lustrous, some remarkably fine detail and with extensive field design visible, extremely fine for this, excessively rare and probably the finest extant specimen of the type.
