Ecuador
Republic gold 8 Escudos 1856-GJ AU53 NGC, Quito mint, KM34.2, Onza-1776. A well preserved coin, with partial mint luster and contained wear on the higher points, flatly struck in the centers as is usually the case and showing trivial planchet laminations essentially inconsequential to the eye-appeal. A one-year type with a low mintage of 6,850 coins and of considerable significance since the last 8 Escudos struck in the country. Rare in any grade and most desirable in this technical designation.
Estimate: 4000-5000 USD
