James I gold Unite ND (1615-16) XF40 NGC, Tun mintmark, Fr-234, S-2620, North-2085. Obv. Half-length bust of King with orb and scepter. Rev. Crowned arms dividing I-R. The portrait is a bit vaporous, while the shield on the reverse is slightly double struck but very clear nonetheless. The odd-shaped flan is entirely typical of the coinage of this era. A presentable example of this larger gold type. Ex. Eric P. Newman Collection.
