William III 1/2 Crown 1696 MS64 PCGS, Royal mint, KM491.13, S-3475. Small shields variety. An exceptional offering with classic, cabinet coloration awash in iridescent hues of amber, turquoise, and gold. The fields are relatively fresh, with evidence of clashed dies on both the obverse and reverse being the only perceived flaw, and the design features are pleasingly strong, especially the detail on the King's bust. A decidedly choice piece and an ideal representative of this one-year type.
