Great Britain
George III bronzed Proof Restrike Penny 1797 PR64 Brown NGC, Peck-1136. A sublime example with classic, chestnut-brown tone and fully-rendered features. The fields exhibit a substantial amount of reflectivity, with only a few darker toning spots that dot the open expanses. As noted in Peck, this restrike was struck with rusted dies--evidence of which is noted on the figure of Britannia and on the broad rim. Additionally, another feature common to this variety is the line-flaw through the 9 in the date. An altogether spectacular representative of this bronzed issue, worthy of much attention from the specialized collector.
