GERMANIC STATES. Imitating Theodosius II (AD 402-450). AV solidus (22mm, 4.49 gm, 5h). Uncertain mint, imitating Constantinople issue of AD 430-440. DN THEDOO-VIS P I AVC, pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield; diadem ribbons to left / VOT XXXXZ NVLT XXXXΔ, Constantinopolis enthroned left, foot on prow, holding globus cruciger and scepter; shield at her side, star in right field, COHOB in exergue. Cf. RIC X 321; cf. Depeyrot 84/1. Very rare. NGC MS 5/5 - 3/5.
