Philip V gold Cob Escudo 1740/39 L-V AU53 NGC, Lima mint, KM35, S-L30. Mintage: 561. Nicely struck with centering just short of ideal, the reverse cross being perfectly placed and the obverse date running just slightly off the flan. Limited strike doubling certainly aids the eye-appeal and bright luster more than compensates for what little highpoint friction there is. A choice coin, and as such, one that should attractive significant collector attention.
