Choice Mint State with highly lustrous surfaces and moderate handling marks on the obverse fields likely preventing a higher technical designation. The variety with a simple cross on the reverse, not listed for the date by Gomes and very rare in this high preservation. The cataloguer notes a raw yet presumably comparable example of this variety and date hammering for CHF11,500 in UBS' auction 76 (1/2008, lot 3237).
