Death of Peter I bronzed copper Piefort Novodel Specimen Jeton 1725 SP64 PCGS, issued on the death of Emperor Peter I, Bit-Ж3890 var., Diakov-63.11 var., 7.65g, 22.8mm. This piece is a piefort, and it is not listed as such in any reference, also, we can find no sales, or listings of this piece in piefort. Even the few silver pieces that we have seen offered in past sales weighed less than 3 grams. Obv. Crowned baldachin over a crowned coffin. Rev. Seven-line inscription. Impeccably struck on a very thick flan, with iridescent, reddish-brown patina and prooflike fields. A truly special variety of this issue mourning the death of Peter the Great, Possibly Unique?
