U.S.S.R. Order of Lenin Medal Choice UNC, the Soviet Union's highest award for meritorious service in the revolutionary movement, employment, defense of the socialist fatherland, the development of friendship and co-operation between peoples, peace consolidation, and other meritorious service to the Soviet state and society. An extremely important Soviet award, given both to Military, and non-military, Soviet citizens, and persons who are not citizens. This medal, stamped serial # 237828, with the original ribbon attached, has both platinum and gold, with a central portrait of Lenin, in platinum, facing left, against a dark gray enamel background. This is encircled by golden wheat ears and a red enamel banner with Lenin in Cyrillic. Minor contact marks are noted, but the overall condition is exemplary, and also included is the award booklet with the name of the perso who received this particular award and the date issued in 1953. The front of the booklet is pictured and reads, "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, medal book." This is Mcdaniel & Schmitt Type 6, Variation 1, listed on page 6 of their book, "The Comprehensive Guide to Soviet Orders and Medals." Very scarce with the original documentation.
