George V Specimen 10 Cents 1921 SP66 PCGS, Ottawa mint, KM23a. The strike is essentially flawless and the lustrous surfaces display mottled gold and steel-blue patina. A few small, darker, toning spots are noted on the reverse, and no contact marks are worthy of mention. This is only the second example of this Specimen issue that we have offered (and seen), and the previous offering was in our April 2014 sale of the Prager Collection of Canadian Coins. 1921 is a storied year in Canadian numismatic history, with the 5 Cents and 50 Cents being major rarities, but all of the Specimen issues are highly sought-after, and this piece is no exception. Only four pieces of 1921 10 Cent Specimens have been certified by PCGS (none by NGC), with none finer than this example. This date was missing in Specimen from the Pittman, Norweb, and Belzberg collections. From The Eric Beckman Collection of Canadian Coins
