Frederik IV Krone 1702 MS65 NGC, KM448, Dav-A1287. Very few certified examples of this type have sold at public auction, and so it is hard to mark comparisons with other auction results. The closest example we can provide for the benefit of the bidder is the Eric Newman example, which was an AU58 Krone from 1700 (so the same Davenport number but different year) that still hammered at $2,000 (Heritage 3029, January 2014, lot 30480). Deeply toned with significant underlying luster, this coin has great eye appeal and is certainly worthy of the Gem Mint State status assigned to it by NGC.
