Fulda. Bernhard Gustav Adolf Taler 1672 MS64 NGC, KM17, Dav-5316, Gehrling/Erdmann-75/2. Commemorating his election to the prince-bishopric of Fulda. Obv. Biographical inscription in eleven lines. Rev. Garnished coat-of-arms surmounted by cardinal's hat; in background, palm tree with stone above. Attractive steel-gray toning, with an underlying luster and darker blue and light gold highlights around the devices. An impressive design almost always found struck upon rolled flans of a slightly oval shape, as is the case with this specimen. Rare and very choice.Ex. Grün 50, Lot 2090.
