Great Britain
Edward III (1327-77) gold Noble 1361-69 MS63 NGC, London mint, Treaty Period, S-1502, North-1231. Crowned king with sword and shield standing facing in ship, a saltire at the beginning of his titles / Floriate cross with Є in central quadrilobe, cross potent mm. A stunning example of this type, near-perfectly struck on a broad flan. Highly lustrous surfaces exhibit sharply detailed devices and few abrasions visible without the aid of a glass. The NGC attribution of S-1505 is incorrect, as that would be a Calais minted issue with a "C" at the center of the reverse. Very rare thus. From the RichLyn Collection

Estimate: 6000-8000 USD
