George III gold Proof Pattern "Military" Guinea 1813 PR63 Cameo PCGS, Royal mint, WR-115 (R7- 1 or 2 known). By Lewis Pingo after Marchant's model, with smaller lettering on the reverse. Excessively rare, this is the only example of this type that has been on the open market in at least a decade. Beautifully toned, with just a few light hairlines in the fields. Very slight die shift is noted on the reverse, which serves as a useful specimen diagnostic, though with such few specimens in existence one wonders if that would ever be something to worry about.
