Edward VII gold "Official Royal Mint" Large Size Coronation Medal 1902 MS62 NGC, BHM-3737, Eimer-1871a. Mintage: 1,410 (878 issued). 55mm. By G.W. de Saulles. Impressive in its size and design, with an intricately detailed bust of the King on one side, and his Queen on the other. Finer than is typically seen, as large gold medals that are distributed into non-numismatist hands often end up with noteworthy marks or visible edge dents. The present piece however remains free of any such imperfections, with a light wipe contributing to the grade, but no larger blemishes to speak of. The first example we have offered in this grand format and accompanied with the original box of issue; an ideal companion piece to any advanced collection of Edward VII coinage or official coronation issues.
