British India. Edward VII Proof Restrike Mule Rupee 1901/1910 PR63 NGC, Calcutta mint, SW-7.5, Pr-unlisted. The strike is superb, and the obverse brilliant white with no significant flaws. The reverse has full luster beneath slightly mottled gray and russet toning with minor handling marks. This extremely rare combination striking was struck with the obverse die of SW-712 (Pr-1049) and the reverse die of SW-7.2 (Pr-1046). It has a date of 1901 on the reverse, but the reverse die is of a type that was initially struck in 1910, therefore this combination restrike must have been sometime after that and it has the look of a later restrike, but it was struck from near-perfect dies with no signs of die rust. An extremely rare issue. Ex. David Fore Collection, Lot 819 with original auction card.

Estimate: 9000-11000 USD
