British Colony - George VI Proof Penny 1949 PR67 Brown PCGS, KM21. Remarkable Superb Gem quality, and almost certainly the finest extant for this rare issue, with surfaces that reflect undisturbed placement, likely in the original presentation box, for ages. On the obverse (the side that was likely facing outward and remained exposed to air), the surfaces have toned a vivid electric-blue with secondary fuchsia blushes. The reverse, in stark contrast, retains nearly full mint red, and while it certainly wouldn't affect the value of this transcendant beauty, the use of the "Brown" color modifier instead of "Red and Brown" by PCGS is puzzling. Nonetheless, an extremely challenging proof in any condition, and in this unparallel presentation, a coin destined for a collector that demands the finest.
