Danzig. Michael Korybut Wisniowicieki gold Ducat 1670/69-DL MS63 NGC, KM71.1, Fr-32. Easily one of the finest examples extant, with exceptionally-crisp design features--down to the intricate curls on the portrait of Korybut--and surrounding fields that present an enticing amount of reflectivity. Beneath the obvious flash, the open areas are resoundingly clear of any mentionable marks, and upon rotation the surfaces are drenched in a luminous glow, igniting the elements in brightness. Just a bit of strike-softness is noted on the central reverse motif, but is hardly considered a distraction from the exceptional quality that this selection asserts. Even without the aid of magnification, the corrected date is visible and highly intriguing, further adding another dimension of interest to this outstanding specimen. An altogether incomparable offering, essentially unrivaled in both technical condition as well as eye appeal, and for a coin of this age to have been so well preserved, an absolute rarity in all regards.

Estimate: 25000-30000 USD
