Sweden
Carl IX 20 Mark 1606 XF40 NGC, Stockholm mint, Dav-573 (the NGC attribution of Dav-574 is incorrect as that would be the type with the king crowned), SM-27. A remarkably well-preserved example of this large silver type, evenly circulated with a handful of small rim dents as are so common to the issue. As the son of Gustav I and father of Gustavus Adolphus, Carl continued the strengthening of the Protestant state which would eventually lead to Sweden's involvement as a primary antagonist in the Thirty Years War.
