Antoninus Pius. AD 138-161. Æ As (26mm, 9.62 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck AD 143-144. Bare head right / Victory advancing right, holding palm frond and wreath. RIC III 731a. VF, green patina with touches of red, minor flan flaws, some minor smoothing. British Victory type.

Antoninus Pius received his second imperial acclamation, as recorded in this coin's reverse legend, for the victory by his governor in Britannia, Lollius Urbicus, over the Brigantes. It was Urbicus that also constructed the Antonine Wall in Scotland from Forth to Clyde.
