Lokris Opuntii. 350s BC. Stater (Silver, 23mm, 12.07 g 12). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain leaves and triple-pendant earring. Rev. ΟΠΟΝ - ΤΙΩΝ Ajax, nude but for helmet, moving right, holding short sword in his right hand and, in his left, shield adorned with a serpent on the inside; below, on ground, two spears. BCD 41 (same dies). Dewing 1476. A pretty coin of lovely style. Light graffito Π on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
