GREEK COINS
ARKADIA
Kleitor. Circa 460-440 BC. Obol (Silver, 9mm, 1.03 g). Forepart of bridled horse to right. Rev. Incuse of mill-sail pattern with four raised and four sunken triangles. BCD Peloponnesos 1416 = SNG Lockett 2519 = Weber 2323 (same dies). Extremely rare. Good very fine.
From a European collection, formed before 2005.
This piece is not firmly attributed to Kleitor, but it does seem most likely to have come from there rather than from either Northern Greece or Asia Minor.
