CRETE
Rhaukos. Circa 330-270 BC. Stater (Silver, 26mm, 11.36 g 12). Poseidon, nude but for his wreath, standing right, holding a trident in his right hand and the reins of his horse, standing right behind him with his right fore hoof raised. Rev. ΡΑ-ΥΚ-[ΙΟΝ] (retrograde) Trident with points downward. Gorny & Mosch 232, 2015, 247 (same dies). Le Rider pl. VI, 7-8. Svoronos Suppl. 58 = pl. 13, 8 (same dies). An excellent, clear piece with an obverse of unusually fine Classical style. Reverse lightly struck, otherwise, about extremely fine.
