GREEK COINS
IONIA
Uncertain. Circa 600-550 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 10mm, 2.78 g), Phocaean standard. Ibex, or goat, kneeling to left, his head turned back to right. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Apparently unpublished save for an example, from the same dies, that appeared as lot 158 in Gemini VI, 2010. A lovely piece, with an expressive and archaic-looking caprid. Well struck. Extremely fine.
