FOREIGN - 18 kt. Gold Jambiya Dagger with jewelled Scabbard , MOROCCO Believed to be a diplomatic gift from the King of Morocco to a visiting head of state. Both the dagger itself as the scabbard are hand-crafted in 18 kt. gold. The handle is made of white bone with 18 kt. gold appliqués, the blade from steel with green, red, white and black enamels and partially gilt. The scabbard and the handle are both jeweled with diamonds and emeralds. The inner casing of the scabbard is lined with green and black velours. A stunning example of the best craftsmanship! This handsome ceremonial dagger measures circa 50 cm. from the handle to the tip of the blade. Housed in a large red imitation leather box with gilt Moroccan coat-of-arms on top. Undated but believed to be from 1950's.
