Scaglia I.38), some solder on reverse, extremely fine; Petronia, wife of Vitellius, oval bronze uniface plaquette, incised petronia vit vx, 82mm x 65mm, very fine, both contemporary casts (2) Plaquettes such as these appear to have been the inspiration behind a series of uniface medals of the twelve Caesars and their wives which have been attributed to Soldani – see the sale of the Charles Avery collection, sold here on 11 June 2008, lot 515.
