CHINA. Sinkiang. 3 Mace, AH 1322 (1904/5). NGC MS-61.
L&M-726; Kann-unlisted; Y-18A.1; WS-1211. CONDITION RARITY. Almost unheard of preservation for the type, with die polish lines lending texturized surfaces to the obverse fields. Fully struck and nearly all white aside from single arcs of edge toning on each side. We handled a 2 Mace several years ago in AU-55 that soared past $1,000 with premiums (December 2010 Hong Kong, Lot 245) with the piece seen here vastly superior in quality in addition to being the larger 3 Mace denomination. Easily one of the finest extant for the issue and a coin that is sure to see lively bidding. NGC MS-61.
