Near Very Fine. Sand patina. Rare.
Whilst uncertain, G.F.Hill notes that this mythological reverse type may be identified with Dido (BMC Phoenicia, p. 277). Such an identification suggests that this reverse perhaps depicts Dido escaping Tyre and journeying to North Africa where she oversaw the construction of Carthage, as on other Tyrian reverse types.
