BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Dunham & Yallop, Copper Halfpenny, 1793, obv shield of arms of the city of Norwich on sword and mace, between crossed palm branches, SUCCESS TO THE CITY OF NORWICH around, flat shield, tie at branches, hilt of the sword points to first limb of O of OF, top of mace points to second limb of H of THE, rev eagle with wings extended, NORWICH HALFPENNY around, edge plain, not in collar (Atkins p.154, 32a; D&H Norfolk 31a). Minor blemishes, otherwise nearly good extremely fine and extremely rare.
Robert Dunham (1761-1823) and John Yallop (later, Sir John Yallop, 1762-1835) were partners in the goldsmiths shop.
