BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Charles James, die sinker and medalist, Bow Street, London, Copper, White Metal, Gilt-copper, and Silver Penny, 1789, obv laureate bust in profile right dividing G III, 1788 below, GOD SAVE THE KING around, rev WHEN WE FORGET HIM, MAY GOD FORGET US! Thurlow, RESTORED TO HEALTH MARCH 1789 in exergue edge plain (Atkins p.361, 11; D&H Middlesex 185). Copper better than extremely fine, white metal with a small spot, otherwise good extremely fine and retaining much brilliance, gilt-copper with minor blemishes, otherwise good extremely fine and retaining much brilliance, silver neatly holed for suspension, otherwise nearly as made and attractively toned, extremely rare in silver.
