His place of business was 46 Cloth Fair, West Smithfield, Copper Halfpenny, 1797, obv a church, TIPTON HALFPENNY around, rev anchor and cable, PAYABLE . . IN . . STAFFORDSHIRE . 1797 around, edge engrailed (Conder p.139, 6; Atkins p.183, 20; D&H Staffordshire 24). A little detritus and superficial verdigris, otherwise good extremely fine with some colour remaining, very rare.
