BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, ENGLAND, Reynolds & Company, (Coalbrook Dale), Richard Reynolds (1735-1816) ironmaster, and his sons William Reynolds (1758-1803), inventor of the inclined plane, and Joseph Reynolds (1768-1859), managing partner of the Ketley Iron Works, Shropshire, Copper Halfpenny, 1792, obv a bridge with ship sailing under, ERECTED ANNO. 1779 . SPAN 100 FT. HEIT. 50 FT, IRON BRIDGE AT COALBROOK DALE 1792, right edge of the bridge aligns to second limb of second O of COALBROOK, rev man working at an inclined plane, INCLINED PLANE AT KETLEY 1789, no stop after KETLEY or date, A under second limb of N, T under CL, 1 of date under second limb of K, 9 under L, 1 slopes to right, edge PAYABLE AT COALBROOK-DALE AND KETLEY (Atkins p.166, 6; D&H Shropshire 6). Struck from a lightly rusted obverse die and fractured reverse die, nearly as made and very rare.

The reverse is of a later state than that used for D&H 9
