BRITISH 18TH CENTURY TOKENS, WALES, John Jordan, Victualer, Weaman Street, Birmingham. The tokens were struck from dies prepared by his son, John Stubbs Jordan, Uniface Copper Halfpenny, 1795, obv Britannia seated with spear and shield, pedestal behind entwined with laurel, Y . BRENHIN . AR . GYFRAITH around, 1795 in exergue, crown on pedestal, rev blank, edge PAYABLE AT RIMSCOMBE PORT (D&H unlisted, noted as D&H Glamorganshire 2bis). Light scratches, otherwise extremely fine and with a little faded colour remaining, exceedingly rare, this the only example traced.
