HALFPENNY * around, top of second 7 aligns with top of 9, rev arms of Perth, the motto PRO REGE LEGE ET GREGE around, top of wings extend above top of the heads, middle claw on right to first limb of G of GREGE, edge PAYABLE AT THE HOUSE OF PAT.K MAXWELL XX (Conder p.127, 4; Pye p.41, 3; Atkins p.324, 7; D&H Perthshire 9). Light brush marks evident and the gilding worn thin in parts, otherwise extremely fine.
