Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1652E transitional Type IV, from the Capitana (1654). S-P37; KM-A20.4; CT-432. 19.42 grams. Full 4-digit date in legend (appearing twice due to doubling) on off-center pillars side, bold full shield with much legend on that side too, toned Fine with surface corrosion all over. Unique die variety with two dots above lower 8 but no dots above the E's. Pedigreed to the Roberto Mastalir collection, #IV.1-A.ab(1)1 in his book (page 85), from the Capitana (1654), with Herman Moro certificate. ($1250-2000)
