Pre-Columbian grayware Chimu vessel from Peru, ca. 1100 - 1450 A.D. This well made Chimu bottle is 7-1/8 high and is decorated with a band of wave designs encircling the upper half of the chamber. A nicely detailed bird adorns the spout and the broad strap handle is intact. Nicely burnished, good mineral deposits, with cross design on the bottom most likely a maker's mark. Ex Espinoza estate. Value range: $400 - $500.
