BYZANTINE EMPIRE OF NICEA. Theodore I Comnenus-Lascaris (1208-1222). EL aspron trachy (31mm, 3.91 gm, 6h). NGC MS★ 5/5 - 4/5. Nicaea min, Type B, 1208-1212(?). IC - XC, Christ Pantocrator enthroned facing / Theodore and SaintTheodore standing facing, each holding sheathed sword and supporting between them staff topped by eight-pointed star. Sear 2064 corrected (EL not AR). DOC 2. A phenomenal example of this scarce type!
