George V gold Specimen 10 Dollars 1912 SP68 PCGS, Ottawa mint, KM27. An immaculate survivor of this highly coveted issue, preserved in a state fine enough to label it "pristine", without notable instances of handling over either the obverse or reverse surfaces. Adding to that fact, the care in which this piece was produced is also immediately apparent, with satiny luster that swirls around fully formed central designs. The addition of faint wisps of color, the result of the coin's natural alloy mixture with copper, provides an essence of peach-apricot color and absolutely delights the visual senses. Truly, a miraculous feat to have survived in this state, and for the Canadian or world gold collector who is looking to add a masterpiece of Canadian coinage to their cabinet, the search should end here. From the Schroeder Collection of Canadian Coins
