Great Britain
Danish East Anglia (c. 885-915). St. Edmund Memorial Coinage Penny c. 895-910 MS61 NGC, unknown East Anglian mint, Ofbert as moneyer, S-960, N-483. + SC EΛIDN, A with chevron-shaped crossbar / + OFBERT, small cross. An attractive example of this issue from later in the production period of this type, not badly blundered but with shorter legends and without pellets in the fields on a smaller-module flan. This moneyer is unlisted in North or BMC, but was published in a fairly recent article on a small hoard acquired by Baldwin's in 1993: M. Blackburn & H. Pagan, "The St Edmund coinage in the Light of a Parcel from a Hoard of St Edmund Pennies," British Numismatic Journal 72 (2002):1-14.
