Philip V gold Cob 8 Escudos 1716 L-M AU53 NGC, Lima mint, KM38.2, Onza-250. An appealing example of this rare date, with deep patination in the recesses accentuating the boldly struck design. Typically short of flan, the central details are excellent and enlivened by faint traces of residual luster. The surfaces are not porous as is often the case nor do they bear many obvious post-strike imperfections, short of the circulation wear responsible for the certified grade.
Estimate: 6000-8000 USD
