CHINA--REPUBLIC. Bank of China. 1 Dollar, 1909 (ND 1912). P-16d. PCGS Extremely Fine 45 Apparent. Minor Stains.
(S/M#C294-2d) Peking. Bank of China overprints on Ta Ching Government Bank P-A77. This highly rare overprinted Bank of China type is the first we have handled for the catalog number, regardless of issuing branch. These notes are shown with all branches showing prices in the five figure range in the SCWPM and do not lists prices above that level. The notes they were overprinted on are also some of the most visually pleasing ABN designs produced for Chinese currency as well with multi-color under-prints, and beautiful central vignettes at an impressive back design.

The quality of this note cannot be understated as we understand that the very few known are mostly lower grade examples. This note retains terrific color and detail throughout with just minimal circulation observed. Just a vertical fold at center and mostly handling otherwise is mentioned and the minor stains that PCGS Currency mentions are relegated to mostly the lower border. A quick look at the PMG population report further cements the rarity involved with them having graded just a single note of this catalog number at the Very Fine level. Truly an offering that will likely not be replicated in the near future, bid accordingly. PCGS Extremely Fine 45 Apparent. Minor Stains.

Estimate: $20000.00- $30000.00
