CHINA. 500 Yuan Commemorative Set, 1995, 1996, & 1997. Return of Hong Kong to China. PCGS PROOF-68 (1) & PROOF-69 (2) DEEP CAMEO Secure Holders.
Fr-129, 161 & 175; KM-817, 958, & 1046. 3 pieces in set. One of each year 1995, 1996 & 1997. Each with a mintage of only 228 pieces. The 1995 and 1996 issues were struck in preparation of the return of Hong Kong to China while the 1997 was struck the year that Hong Kong actually returned to China. This year, 2017, marks the 20th anniversary of the return of Hong Kong to China which also happens to be a special administrative region. All are graded and certified by PCGS. Each with case of issue and certificate of authenticity serial # 9. The 1997 is graded Proof 68 Deep Cameo while the 1995 & 1996 are both graded Proof 69 Deep Cameo. All have minor copper spots on their rims mentioned for accuracy. A well matched set and impressively all with the same low lucky & auspicious serial number nine.
