Maximus. 235-238 AD. AE 24, 7.35g (12h). Alexandria Troas. Obv: IVL MAX - IMV[S CAE] (the S backwards) Bare-headed, draped, cuirassed bust right. Rx: COL (retrograde) on right, TR below central arch, the front of a building with a large arched entryway flanked by two smaller vaults, above Victory standing facing between two trophies, holding a shield above her head with both arms; the sides of the building are shown in perspective, two columns and a diagonal line on the left, on the right just a parallel diagonal line. Bellinger A384, pl. 22 (Vienna only, same dies). Possibly only the second recorded specimen of this interesting architectural type.
