Large Cents
1794 1C Head of 1794, S-39, B-27, R.6, VF30 PCGS. Breen Die State II, with a faint crack from the lower reverse rim through the left ribbon end. Both die chips in the obverse field below the cap are visible, although the smaller one near the dentils is faint. Sheldon-39 is rare in all grades, and the present example is near the Condition Census, the eighth finest known, and sixth best in collectors' hands. Wear is light and even, and the surfaces are mostly smooth with medium brown color. The obverse shows several scattered marks, and the lower portion of the date is weak. The reverse has some minor granularity in the recesses of the wreath. Each side has a mildly glossy appearance and presents well to the naked eye. Our EAC grade VF20.
