Early Dollars
1795 $1 Draped Bust, Centered, B-15, BB-52, R.2 -- Repaired -- PCGS Genuine. VF Details. Bowers Die State IV, with a die break in the hair near the ribbons. This is one of two Draped Bust varieties for the 1795 dollar, identified by the centered portrait. Richly toned borders show melded hues of blue and gold that lighten over the centers. Design detail is better than the grade might suggest. Adjustment marks occur over Liberty's hair, and small pock marks occur on each side. An area of smoothing appears in the right obverse field and across the portrait.
