Gold Dollars
1853 G$1 MS65 PCGS. Always the date of first choice for type collectors needing a Gem Type One gold dollar, this frosty and lustrous 1853 example stands above other contenders. Attractive, greenish-gold patina deepens to olive-gold at the rims. Fine granularity across the surfaces creates tiny facets that capture light and bolster the vibrant mint luster. The strike is pinpoint-sharp on the stars, hair strands, and wreath details, with only brief blending at the top of the bun where the impression is incomplete. There are no singularly important abrasions.
