BC-18 $500 1935 French Text Face and Back Proofs. Not a single French text $500 is known in private collections from its meager printing of only 5000. Therefore, the pressure is on the few Proofs and Specimens that are extant. The face grades PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ, while the back is PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 with an approximate .375 inch tear at bottom center. PMG has not graded another Proof example of the face equal or higher of the grand total of two that have traveled to their offices. PMG states on the label that there is pencil on the back of the card stock. That is the pencilled control number of "0797" that graces the backs of each. Pencil writing of control numbers on the back is commonplace for Proofs. Both of these rare Proofs are held in a multi note holder, therefore, the item count is one. HID08701242017
